I want youGlide Fire District emergency responders are volunteers who have the heart to serve their community!

More community members of all ages are needed to meet the emergency needs of Glide's citizens!

Many of our volunteers work full-time jobs as Engineers, Mill Workers, Equipment Operators, Nurses, and Pastors.  Some of our volunteers are retired from a profession, yet choose to continue to serve their fellow community members.  Each volunteer has chosen to be trained as an EMR, EMT, or Firefighter in order to meet the emergency needs of our District taxpayers.

If you have the heart to serve, we can teach you the skills!

NEW volunteers are needed to train as:

  • Firefighters
  • Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs)
  • Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)
  • Water Tender Drivers
  • Pump Operators
  • Traffic Controllers
No prior experience is needed.  We provide all the training!

We also need new volunteers to perform the following tasks:

  • Monthly Vehicle Checks
  • Station Maintenance & Repair
  • Public Information Officer (Media Liaison)
  • Community Education
  • Grant Research & Writing (prior experience needed)
  • Support Activities as a Glide Fire Association member

Glide Fire's command structure includes a full-time paid Fire Chief, a part-time paid Assistant Chief in charge of training, and numerous volunteer Firefighters, Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs), and Emergency Medical Technician’s (EMT’s).

We also have a volunteer Fire Association, which provides support and other services to the Firefighters and EMT’s.
