Be a Fire Safety Hero!

  • NEVER play with matches or lighters!
  • Have a home fire escape plan.  That means knowing two ways out of every room in your house! PRACTICE your home fire escape plan.
  • If a fire starts in your house, crawl low, next to the floor to avoid yucky smoke.
  • Once you are out of your house, STAY OUT!  Go to your meeting place and wait for other family members.  Call 911 from a neighbor’s house.
  • If your clothes catch on fire, STOP, DROP, and ROLL!
  • Never play around stoves, ovens, or space heaters, or candles.
